The Backscratcher is a 90 hole golf tournament played over the course of three days.  36 holes are played as four person teams, 36 holes played as two man teams, and the final round is played individually.  Points are awarded for place finished, scoring average, money list and events. 

The 18th Backscratcher will take place in Gaylord, Michigan in 2026. Treetops resort will be the host site of the first four rounds with the final round taking place at The Tribute. This is the fourth time the Backscratcher will be held in the Gaylord area.  

In 2008, four golfers traveled to Nashville, Tennessee and the Backscratcher was born. Referred to as the "Founding Fathers," they play an integral role in the planning, execution, and running of the event.
